The game was originally targeting a 2018 release, although since then, the game’s creator, Yang Bing, has stated that “his 2020 goal is to release the game before the end of the year.” Starting as a one-man project, the Action RPG takes inspiration from games such as Final Fantasy XV and Devil May Cry, to create a game that’s equally as stylish as it is ambitious. “ two years, but actually, it's still on prototype stage,” writes Bing, “and I used many assets from marketplace, that's why I can work it out alone.” It’s worth noting, even though Bing admits to purchasing assets to help see the game through to completion, the developer still has to code the game, get everything working, write and come up with the story, and a plethora of other developer tasks you can’t buy with real world money.Lost Soul Aside was first revealed in 2016. Writing via Twitter, Bing says he’s used “many” assets from the marketplace before explaining for the work to be 100% original, he’d need to bring in more people. Play Bing’s manager says the developer was inspired by Final Fantasy XV when he saw the trailer two years ago, so Bing “decided to work on his own (Final) Fantasy, but the models will eventually change in the final game.” The idea of funding the game via Kickstarter is being floated about, but at this point in time, and the fact it’s only a one-person team, Bing doesn’t know if he can “bear the responsibility that comes with it.” One concern being raised at the moment is how much of Lost Soul Aside is Bing’s work, and how many of the assets were purchased from the Unreal Asset store.
